Diane Edgecomb - Storyteller, Author, Theatre ArtistLegends from two very different cultures show how folktales were designed to teach important lessons about how to live in this world. The performance begins with an eerie story from the Nicaraguan rainforest, Voice of the Dar, which tells how two invisible hunters came to haunt the rainforest. This story, which tells of some of the first encounters between the native tribes and European traders, contains lessons we also teach our youth today. The program culminates with Diane’s humorous adaptation of Sir Gawain and the Loathly Lady, an Arthurian legend that teaches about women’s rights in a delightfully roundabout way!

“Our storytelling assembly for the 5th and 6th graders was one of the best hours we have enjoyed in many years. Even our most reluctant listeners were involved. Thank you for exposing all of us to the pleasure and excitement of listening to stories.” Rosemary Carr, 6th grade teacher, Warwick Elementary School, Warwick, PA
