Diane Leads Kurdish Dance with StudentsTales from Kurdistan

Immerse yourself in the world of the Kurds of the Middle East with this lively and interactive performance. Entertaining Kurdish folktales from Diane’s book – the first collection of Kurdish folktales to appear in English: A Fire In My Heart: Kurdish Tales will alternate with colorful slides, music and anecdotes of her time visiting with shepherds in remote villages. Favorite tales include The Lie: the story of a funny tall-tale contest between a feisty nephew and his uncle, Fatima: the beautiful Kurdish Cinderella story, as well as tales of how the moon and Milky Way came to be. Traditional dress and dance round out our exploration of this little known culture.
