July 11th, 2010, 10:00 am: Insect Comedy at Erving State Forest , Exact performance location: Laurel Lake Recreation Area, 122 Long Pond Road, Warwick, MA 978-544-3939- Once inside the park at 122 Long Pond Road the performance is specifically located at 10 Camp Road. Insect Comedy takes a delightful look at our six-legged friends. In Princess Firefly, entertaining facts are served up along with plenty of silliness as the insect princess ponders, “Who will be the bug that I will love?” Kate’s Acorn, one of Diane’s original stories, teaches about the importance of soil creatures in the life cycle of plants & tells us just how many funny little bugs can hide under one rock! In another backyard story we learn when to keep and when to let insects go. Diane’s hilarious interpretations of Mr. Mosquito, Mr Gnat and Old King Lampyradie Beetle keep us laughing as we take a closer look at the wonderful world of insects.

Diane presents Kurdish folktales, culture and dance drawing from her story collecting journeys and from her new book the first collection of Kurdish folktales to appear in English.
How fun and exciting to be able to have you visit Pine Point! And, I have to tell you that I have heard such wonderful comments since the assembly. You inspired questions and conversations around the campus and you were a hit with both the students and faculty alike. I helped with a class on Friday morning -- they couldn't wait to talk to me about the assembly and ask me to show them your book when I walked them to library from their classroom.

Once Upon A Halloween, 2009
A Fun-filled Halloween complete with a huge Cauldron bubbling over with fog for the dramatic last story.
The colors are on the leaves, the apples and pumpkins are inviting us to frolic and I am deep in my closet digging out my Cauldron, Witches Hat, Pumpkin Vest and Black Cape preparing for performances of ONCE UPON A HALLOWEEN! I will be at events all over Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York if you feel like chasing after me on your hybrid broom! Stay after the show and stir the cauldron.... Your future can be read in the swirls you create! Hmmmm... why is it that most Children's Halloween future involves some version of CANDY!
