June-August On Tour with “Join IN!” for families
August 1, 2023 - August 16, 2023
This summer I’m touring libraries and many other venues with my participatory programming for families. Look for me at an area venue OR ask them to bring my performances next year! I tour all over New England and New York- and further if there is a block booking of several shows offered.
Read about Join IN! Here:
Sing, Dance & Join right in Diane’s Musical Stories in this fun-loving event for families and elementary school audiences. We’ll learn the song of the wind in the Old Apple Tree tale and act out rainforest animals in the Amazon story of Kibungo, joining together to defeat a great, big, smelly monster! Did you know that Jack had an adventure in Ireland? He didn’t get beans but a whole pocketful of bugs that made everybody dance! Don’t miss the fun as he turns the town inside out getting everyone to kick up their heels as we all celebrate the wonder of childhood and the unifying power of laughter. Led by award-winning performer Diane Edgecomb the whole audience JOINS IN in this warmhearted celebration of community and fun.
Diane Edgecomb is one of New England’s favorite storytellers. She has been featured on NPR and is a winner of a Parent’s Choice award for her CDs and recordings.
“My family was at your amazing performance of “Join In” yesterday. I have to tell you: It was awesome! It was so lively and full of joy. It’s amazing how you bring together many aspects of art and present them for kids so they use their imagination to “see” all the characters you’re talking, dancing and singing about. Personally, I was very happy with your folktales about the rainforests. I’m from Brazil where we have a rich heritage from Africa and we live in the US where my son was born. We were very pleased to hear from all those places that mean a lot to us. And, yes, we loved to hear “O Pião entrou na roda, ó pião! Roda pião, bambeia pião!”. I used to sing this song myself when I was kid. It was delightful. :~)” Audience member at Linden School, Malden, MA
