Celebrate the Winter Solstice with haunting legends of light, evergreen traditions, and entertaining tales surrounded by traditional and original music and song. Master storyteller Diane Edgecomb brings to life ancient tales of the longest nights including the Scandinavian “Legend of the Mistletoe” and “Apple Tree Man” a humorous Wassail story from England. Accompanied by Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain and multi-instrumentalist Tom Megan this performance offers a fascinating look at the humorous and moving stories behind winter holiday traditions. Songs evocative of the season and lovely instrumental melodies round out the event.

This Fundraiser/Matinee features a one-hour video-streaming performance of the trios best-loved Solstice tales and songs as well as a Zoom-live talk-back with the performers after the event. The proceeds of this Fundraising event support the performers as well as their annual gathering place – the Loring-Greenough House which will receive 30% of all proceeds.
