A Fire in My Heart! Kurdish Folktales with author and master storyteller Diane Edgecomb
Author and storyteller Diane Edgecomb shares stories from A Fire in My Heart her book of Kurdish folktales. Many stories in this collection was gathered by Diane in remote Kurdish villages from some of the last Kurdish storytellers. The performance will include not only the folktales but colorful anecdotes of her journeys to gather the tales. Stories range from a humorous tale about a lying contest between an Uncle and his nephew to the Kurd’s hauntingly beautiful version of Cinderella story to short myths of how the moon and Milky Way came to be.
